So I have just gotten around to writing this review after using this site for the first (and last) time. I was debating whether or not to because I’m not a review writer, but decided to because we paid for a subpar service. In May, a number of furniture items from IKEA were ordered and I am terrible at assembling IKEA furniture and it would have taken my husband ages to do it himself, so we opted to have someone do it on our behalf. We first contacted IKEA, but they had no one to perform the service straight away, so we decided to try this site at their suggestion. I initially made an offer and Dominic, who was very polite, contacted me and asked for more than what I initially offered. I agreed since he had a number of good reviews and we needed it done ASAP. He arrived at our home at the agreed time and began assembling our furniture. He didn’t finish assembling the furniture, so he agreed to come the next day to finish the job (which he did). The problem: Most of the furniture is wonky. Some of the furniture items (i.e., the chest of drawers and the dresser) have essential parts (metal brackets that hold the bottom of the drawer in) missing. We noticed this because the bottom of the drawers keep falling out. If there were parts missing, we should have been told, so we could contact IKEA. Nothing was said to us (we left him to it) and he used 2 brackets on the top two drawers of the dresser only and the rest are missing. Now we are having problems (only after a month) with opening/closing the drawers and storing anything of weight inside of them (without the risk of it falling through the bottom). I’m pretty sure those items were included in the assembly package. If not, it would have been nice to have been told they weren’t there, so we could rectify it. There are even screws missing on our TV stand and as mentioned above none of the furniture is actually stable. We even had to go back, remove some of the nails in the furniture and re-hammer them because (I assume) he wanted to get everything done quickly. He was a nice guy, but the state of the furniture after assembly is less than ideal and I don’t think I would ever use this site again.
